University of Michigan Fused Silica Couette Cell Parts

KineOptics fabricated three sets of these fused silica cylinders for the University of Michigan's Department of Chemical Engineering. The Cylinder was fixed and the Piston was rotated inside it. The fluid under test was examined with a laser through both parts normal to the rotational axis. Very tight tolerances, (±.0005"), were maintained on both the piston diameter and bore diameter.
