8" Coelostat

Built 1991 for Jonathan Kern, this instrument has traveled to Costa Rica, Chile, Aruba, Africa, India, and Romania to photograph Solar Eclipses. Constructed mainly from aluminum, it features an 8" Quartz flat and a compliant sector drive in a very compact design.
